Udupi, Karnataka: In a successful breakthrough, Byndoor Police solved a house theft case and recovered ₹6 lakh in stolen cash after arresting the accused. The theft had occurred on 23-04-2026 at a rented house behind SBI Bank in Yadtare village, where unidentified persons broke open the front door lock and stole cash kept inside a Godrej cupboard. A case was registered at Byndoor Police Station under relevant sections of the BNS Act.
Under the investigation led by Circle Inspector Shivakumar B., a special police team traced and arrested the accused, identified as Mahendra Sain (23), a native of Rajasthan currently residing in Byndoor. The accused was apprehended on 07-05-2026, and the entire stolen amount of ₹6 lakh was recovered from him.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated special team comprising officers and staff from Byndoor Police Station, Circle Office, and the CDR section of the Udupi District Police Office.
The swift detection and recovery highlight the efficiency and coordinated efforts of the police in solving property crime cases.
