Noida: Three persons have been arrested by the Noida Special Task Force (STF) for indulging in illegal activities and cheating job seekers during the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment drive in Mathura.
After the arrest of the accused the police have recovered electronic communication devices, spy cameras and admit cards from their possession. The police said that the accused demanded Rs.5 lakh from the candidates for qualifying the exams.
The police identified the accused as Pawan, Raj Kumar and Jeevan Singh. These people had taken Rs.10 Lakh from some job aspirants on the pretext of getting them jobs in the police department, the police said.
The police received complaints about a gang in parts of U.P who were approaching people promising them government jobs. The police began the investigation when they received a confidential piece of information regarding the matter.
The police said that the leader of the gang is Pawan and on receiving a confidential piece of information about him that he is expected to come to Mathura to meet job aspirants, a team was formed and the accused was apprehended and added telling that the three have been taken into custody.The police are interrogating the accused to get more leads and make further arrests.
