Vijayawada: On January 8, 2024, within the precincts of the NTR District Commissioner of Police’s office, an impactful event unfolded during the Response program. This program, orchestrated by the dynamic District Police Commissioner, Mr. Kanti Rana Tata, I.P.S, and meticulously organized by DCP Rural, Mrs. Ajitha Vejendla I.P.S., showcased a proactive approach to address and redress public grievances. The event, conducted every Monday from 10 am to 12:30 pm under the banner of “Spandana,” is a flagship initiative of the Andhra Pradesh State Government.
During this particular session, a comprehensive dialogue was initiated with the accused parties, involving direct communication regarding various issues, requests, and appeals from the victims. The approach adopted by the officials extended beyond routine problem-solving, as they personally reached out to disabled and elderly individuals, utilizing Zoom video conferences to expedite the resolution of their concerns. Clear directives were issued to the Heads of police stations to take immediate and effective action.
The spectrum of complaints received during this session was diverse, encompassing 21 grievances related to cash transactions, 18 concerning marital and family disputes, 12 revolving around civil disputes, 10 associated with various fraudulent activities, 06 pertaining to house rent matters, and 04 categorized as urgent cases. Additionally, 22 complaints were logged under incidents and minor disputes, forming a collective total of 93 grievances.
These 93 issues were not merely recorded but were met with a commitment to swift and efficient resolution. The emphasis on leveraging modern technology, such as Zoom video conferences, exemplifies a forward-thinking and accessible approach to public service. The issuance of clear instructions to address these concerns underscores the dedication of the authorities to ensure prompt action and a tangible impact on the lives of the citizens they serve. This event stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to transparency, responsiveness, and citizen-centric governance.
