Nicobar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands: In an outstanding display of swift investigation and professional policing, Campbell Bay Police in Great Nicobar solved a murder case within just two hours of receiving the information, ensuring the accused was quickly brought to justice.
During the early hours of 11 July 2026, Police Station Campbell Bay received information about a murder near the Fish Landing Jetty footpath. Without delay, police teams rushed to the scene, secured the crime location, and immediately began a scientific investigation.
The investigating officers efficiently collected crucial technical and biological evidence, recovered the weapon allegedly used in the offence, and successfully identified and apprehended the accused—all within two hours of the incident being reported.
The remarkable operation was carried out under the leadership of SHO Insp. Mithun Kirtonia, with the dedicated efforts of SI Dilip Singh, SI Arthi Roy, and SI Risha.
