Hyderabad, Telangana: In a proactive move to enhance road safety and protect school children, the Hyderabad Traffic Police launched a focused initiative to strengthen safety standards for school transportation across the city.
As part of the initiative, DCP Traffic-II Kajal Singh, IPS, along with officers from Goshamahal Traffic Police, held a comprehensive meeting with the managements of several schools to reinforce student transport safety measures.
During the meeting, school authorities were directed to conduct mandatory pre-duty Breathalyzer tests for all school bus drivers, strictly enforce road safety regulations, prevent overcrowding, eliminate rash and drunken driving, and ensure that students are safely handed over to parents or guardians at designated drop-off points. Schools were also encouraged to promote safe commuting practices among parents and private transport operators.
The participating school managements assured the police of their full cooperation and committed to implementing the prescribed safety measures immediately.
This initiative reflects Hyderabad Traffic Police’s commitment to preventive policing and child safety by working closely with educational institutions to create a safer transportation environment for students and ensure smooth, secure vehicular movement across the city.
