Tirunelveli: At a government-aided college in Balayangottai, Tirunelveli, professors Sebastian Romi (38) and Balraj (40) were employed. It is reported that while both were drinking alcohol at a private hotel one night, they contacted a master’s degree student from the same college, spoke to her inappropriately, and invited her to join them for drinks. The student’s parents filed a complaint with the police. Following an investigation ordered by Municipal Police Commissioner Mr. Rupesh Kumar Meena, IPS, it was confirmed that professors Sebastian Romi and Balraj had spoken obscenely to the student and invited her to drink. The police subsequently registered a case against the professors under three sections. In the early hours of Saturday morning, the Palayangottai and Special Forces police arrested Sebastian Romi, while the search continues for the absconding professor, Balraj.
