Pune: Five individuals, namely Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, Mazhar Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, and Vicky Shaikh, have been arrested following a disturbing incident involving the purported contamination of samosas served at a leading automobile company in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Maharashtra. The unsettling discovery, which allegedly included condoms, gutka packets, and stones concealed within the samosas, has prompted an extensive investigation by law enforcement authorities.
According to the police report issued on Monday, the detained suspects were identified as having connections to two distinct entities involved in the catering supply chain. Specifically, two of the apprehended individuals were found to be employees of a subcontracting company responsible for providing the samosas to the automobile company’s canteen, while the remaining three were affiliated with a separate firm. This latter firm had previously lost its contract due to accusations of snack adulteration.
Investigative findings unveiled a calculated plot, with the three partners of the terminated firm allegedly orchestrating the contamination scheme. It is claimed that they strategically placed the other two workers within the subcontracting company to tarnish the reputation of the newly contracted firm.
Further scrutiny into the matter revealed that Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the primary supplier of snacks to the automobile company’s canteen, had subcontracted the production of samosas to another entity named Manohar Enterprise. During questioning, individuals associated with Manohar Enterprise, namely Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, were implicated in the tampering of the samosas by allegedly inserting condoms, gutka packets, and stones into the food items.
Interrogations also shed light on the involvement of SRA Enterprises, a company previously removed from the catering contract due to similar adulteration concerns. It was discovered that three of the arrested individuals were partners of SRA Enterprises and had dispatched employees to contaminate the food supplied by Manohar Enterprise, thereby tarnishing their reputation.
In response to these disturbing revelations, authorities have filed charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to causing harm by means of poison and criminal conspiracy. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement officials continue to delve deeper into the intricacies of this unsettling incident.
