The Punjab Police have been relentless in their efforts to combat drug-related offenses, leading to the registration of 26,312 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
A substantial number of individuals involved in drug trafficking and related activities have been apprehended, showcasing the extensive reach and effectiveness of the police operations.
Targeting the masterminds and major players in the drug trade, 356 significant traffickers, often referred to as ‘big fish,’ have been arrested, disrupting large-scale drug networks.
Drug Seizures:
A massive quantity of heroin has been seized, preventing its distribution and potential harm to countless individuals.
Significant seizures of opium highlight the efforts to curb the supply of raw materials used for producing various drugs.
The confiscation of 106 tons of poppy underlines the ongoing battle against the cultivation and distribution of poppy derivatives.
Efforts to reduce the availability of ganja have led to the seizure of over two tons.
The interception of 46 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as ‘ice,’ signifies a critical step in combating synthetic drug abuse.
A considerable amount of various tablets and capsules, valued at Rs. 4.16 crores, has been confiscated, preventing their illicit sale and use.

To further weaken the drug trade, properties worth Rs. 200 crores linked to drug traffickers have been frozen, disrupting their economic foundations.
