Rachakonda: CP Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat IPS., conducted a meeting on prevention of transport and use of Narcotic Drugs and effective implementation of instructions of the Hon’ble CM of Telangana in Rachakonda at Kushal function Hall, LB Nagar, wherein all Admn SIS, SHOs/Inspectors, ACSP, DCSP of L&O and SOT officers have participated. CP, Rachakonda explained the Hon’ble CM sir’s instructions to all officers on Drug Menace that use best drug control methods to identify and apprehend drug offenders. collection of relevant evidence including technical and FSL reports, ensuring convictions by speedy trials, detention of offenders under the PD Act to prevent further offenses.
Seeking community participation in drugs control, organizing of awareness programs and meetings with community elders, Teachers, Lecturers, and Students. Preparation of documentaries and Ads as well as movies. CP added to treat drug control as a social responsibility rather than considering it as a job and ensure Zero tolerance on drugs. Awards & rewards will be given to officers who display exemplary services and also warned that action will be taken on inactive and erring officers.
In 2021 and so far in this year in 100 cases, 6140 Kilograms Ganja, 7 liters of Hashish Oil, 400 KG Opium Straw seized, and 33 drugs traffickers were detained under PD, CP said.
