Vellore: Vellore District Superintendent of Police Mr. Pravesh Kumar I.P.S in a view to prevent deaths due to road accidents and to convert Vellore district into an accident free district and on his order, Vellore District Police Department along with the Rotary Society, Volunteers and other welfare associations, a road safety squad was created at each police station.
The crew is building awareness on road safety in their police station. As a part of this, today, 21.03.2010 at the Guards well-being center Mr.A. Jeyasupramaniam, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Crimes against women Investigations division. A meeting of the Security Council was held. At the meeting Mr. C. R. Chandrababu, District Rotary Association Governor, Mr. Balasundaram leader Rotary Association Road Safety Committee, Mr. Ilango, consultant Rotary Association Road Safety Committee, and members of the Road Safety Association, members of the Road Safety Committee were also present.
At the meeting, the discussion was about how to prevent the loss of life caused by road accident, and the awareness on decreasing the number of road accidents. The main event is the awareness of road safety and in connection with this; around 100000 Notices were handed over to the road safety squad on behalf of the Rotary Society as an awareness to be distributed to the public throughout Vellore district.
