CHENNAI: Sasikala ordered the Police to not enter the resort without her permission on Tuesday, but the Police told her that the Supreme Court order has directed her to surrender immediately. A Police team under North Zone Inspector General of Police (IG) Mr. Senthamarai Kannan and Kancheepuram district Superitendent of Police (SP) P Mutharasi had gone to the resort at Koovathur where AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala and several MLA’s had been staying but they were told not to enter the premises without their permission. The Police instructed Sasikala to leave the Golden Bay resort in Koovathur and return to Poes Garden and surrender at the Karnataka court. According to Police sources, Sasikala is in the custody of Police as they will have to ensure her surrender at Karnataka court. A senior Police official said, “It is the duty of the police to ensure her surrender and prevent any possible attempt to abscond”. Sasikala first got wrong information that the Supreme Court had granted her four weeks’ time for her to surrender, sources added. But Police told her the clear contents of the judgement, Sasikala had no other option but to oblige. But Sasikala continued with her meeting with the MLAs. A new legislative party leader was selected during this meeting and Police stood guard outside the room, a source said. A special team would accompany Sasikala to Karnataka and will return only after Sasikala and the other accused surrender at the court. ]]>
