Chhattisgarh, Narayanpur: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against Naxalism, security forces neutralized seven Maoists with collective bounties exceeding Rs.30 lakh during an intense encounter in Narayanpur district. The operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of armed Naxalites in the dense forests of the South Abujhmad region. Acting swiftly, a joint team comprising personnel from various security forces was dispatched to the area to conduct a thorough search operation.
Upon reaching the forested region, the security team came under fire from Maoist cadres, resulting in a fierce and prolonged gun battle that lasted for several hours. The encounter ultimately led to the elimination of seven armed Maoists, all dressed in uniforms and equipped with weapons. Among those killed were five men and two women, identified as key members of the Maoist movement in the region.
The operation also uncovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition at the encounter site. Authorities confirmed that the deceased Maoists included individuals with high bounties on their heads: one carried a reward of Rs.25 lakh, another Rs.5 lakh, and the remaining individuals had bounties of Rs.2 lakh each. This successful operation marks a considerable achievement for the security forces in their ongoing campaign to eradicate Naxalism from the region.
