Rachakonda: On 01.06.2021 at evening hours, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone along with the Police of LB Nagar Police Station nabbed a person namely Kota Venkatesh who was impersonating as a member of South Central Railway and Central Film Censor Board by illegally fixing the designation boards to his Bolero vehicle bearing registration number AP-11-AT-9909. The Police seized the Bolero vehicle along with fake ID cards and visiting cards from his possession. A case was registered with CR.NO.597/2021 U/S 170, 419 IPC and Section 7 of State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) ACT-2005 of LB Nagar Police Station.
The details of the accused persons are as follows:
- Kota Venkatesh S/o Anjaiah, age: 44 Years, Occ: Business, Caste: Padmashali, R/o H.No.42, Venture-3, Road No. 05, SBH Colony, LB Nagar.
The materials seized by the police are as follows:
- Bolero jeep bearing no.AP-11-AT-9909,
- Personal ID cards i.e., Driving licenses (Old & New), Voter ID card, Pan Card and Aadhaar card of the culprit,
- Fake ID cards of the culprit as Censor Board Member & SCR Board Member,
- Visiting cards – 06, (In which the culprit got printed posing him as a member of Censor Board and SCR Board)
The accused Mr. Kota Venkatesh S/o Anjaiah, age: 44 Years, Occ: Business, Caste: Padmashali, R/o H.No.42, Venture-3, Road No. 05, SBH Colony, LB Nagar has been doing real estate business. Earlier, he was a DRUCC member only and not a board member of South Central Railway for the period from 2014 to 2016. He was nominated as a panel board member of the Central Film Censor Board for the period from 2016 to 2018.
After completion of his turn as a member of South Central Railway & member of the Central Film Censor Board instead of removing the designation boards to his personal vehicles, he kept them as it is and illegally enjoying its benefits and misleading people. He also still using the ID cards and visiting cards with his expired designation in order to get respect among the public & officials, and thereby cheating the public by posing himself as Board Member of Railway and Central Film Sensor Board.
As per the source, he also used to threaten some innocent people by showing such ID cards and Visiting cards in respect of his personal issue. Due to his abnormal attitude, recently his own mother lodged a complaint on him; cases registered vide Cr.No.468/2021 U/s 341,323,504,506 R/w 34 IPC against him in LB Nagar Police Station, which clearly proves his criminal intention.
On 01.06.2021 at 18:00 hours, while the accused Kota Venkatesh was moving in his Bolero vehicle bearing registration No.AP-11-AT-9909 on the road at SBH Colony X Road, LB Nagar without E-Pass by fixing the board as South Central Railway Board Member and Ashoka Emblem (Satyameva Jayathe) and Central Sensor Board Director, meanwhile the sleuths of SOT and LB Nagar Police apprehended him. On further inquiry, he admitted his guilt in this offense. As such, the above Bolero vehicle along with other property as noted above were seized from the possession of the accused under a cover of Panchanama in the presence of mediators.
In this regard, SHO LB Nagar wrote a letter to GM Railways for clarification on using Government of India Emblem by Board Members, on that letter GM Railway replied to SHO on 19.05.2021 vide letter No. SCR-HQOGMO (DURC)/1/2021. Stating that Board Member is an official post at the rank of Secretary to Government of India, Whereas DRUCC Member is Nominated/Honorary Post. As per the Railway Board Guidelines, DRUCC Member is not authorized to use The Government of India Emblem or Indian Railways Logo on their letterheads/Visiting Cards/Vehicles.
The above arrests were made under the supervision of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. Sunpreeth Singhm IPS, DCP LB Nagar zone, under the guidance of Mr. D. Srinivas, DCP Traffic, Rachakonda I/C of SOT Rachakonda. Mr. Ashok Reddy, Inspector of Police, LB Nagar, Mr. T. Ravi Kumar, Inspector of Police, SOT LB Nagar zone, Mr. A.A Raju, SI of Police and staff of Special Operations Team, LB Nagar zone, Rachakonda.
