Ernakulam Rural: Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS announced strict measures to prevent the use of intoxicating substances. During his visit to the Kuttampuzha Elamblasheri tribal settlement area, he emphasized the importance of creating more awareness about the dangers of intoxicants and urged residents to report any use or sale to the police or the anti-drug squad, Dansaf, whose contact numbers have been provided. He assured that informants’ identities would be kept confidential. A WhatsApp group will be established with key community members and officials to share information. The police will conduct daily patrols in these areas, and the district police chief promised that an inspector would visit weekly to address complaints and find solutions. Dr. Saxena, who is also a medical doctor, stressed the importance of health awareness and proper medication adherence. He encouraged residents to approach the police for assistance at any time. The locals raised concerns about the use of intoxicants and issues with wild animals. In response to a request for a sports field, the SHO was instructed to prepare a detailed letter for submission to the concerned authorities. Elders Michael and Raghavan, along with District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS, Inspector PM Faisal, ASIs VR Suresh, TR Manoj, Promoter Divya, and other officials, attended the meeting.
