Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: District SP Sri K.V. Maheswara Reddy, IPS, has directed police officials to implement comprehensive security and traffic arrangements to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the NEET PG-2026 examinations scheduled for Sunday morning.
The SP issued the directions during a review meeting conducted through a Zoom conference from the District Police Office, where he reviewed security arrangements for the examination, the ‘Palle Nidra’ (Village Night-Stay) programme, and the investigation of pending property-related cases.
Robust Security at Four Examination Centres
The SP instructed officials to deploy adequate police personnel and ensure strict security at all four NEET PG-2026 examination centres in the district. The centres include:
- Sri Shivani College of Engineering
- Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology, Chilakapalem Junction, Etcherla Mandal
- Core Technologies, Maruthinagar-2, Narasannapeta
- Aditya Institute of Technology and Management, Tekkali
Police officials were directed to conduct thorough frisking of candidates before permitting them to enter the examination centres and strictly implement the required security protocols. Officials were also instructed to enforce Section 144 and ensure the closure of Xerox and internet centres in the vicinity of the examination venues.
The SP further ordered officials to verify the proper functioning of CCTV surveillance systems at all examination centres and arrange drone surveillance wherever necessary. Special attention was also directed towards traffic management to prevent congestion and ensure the uninterrupted movement of candidates and the public near the examination centres.
Police to Strengthen Village Outreach
As part of the ‘Palle Nidra’ programme, the SP directed police officers and personnel to visit every village and interact directly with residents. With the upcoming elections in view, officers were instructed to assess the law-and-order situation, identify public concerns and grievances, and take prompt steps to address them.
The initiative aims to strengthen community-police relations, improve public confidence in the police, and ensure effective monitoring of local law-and-order issues at the grassroots level.
Speedy Investigation of Property Cases
The SP also reviewed pending property-related criminal cases and instructed investigating officers to expedite their investigation and bring the cases to a logical conclusion at the earliest.
He emphasized the importance of using scientific investigation methods, including thorough analysis of physical and technical evidence collected from crime scenes. Officers were directed to make effective use of available investigative techniques to identify offenders and ensure speedy resolution of pending cases.
The District SP appealed to all NEET PG-2026 candidates to cooperate with the police, follow the prescribed security procedures, and reach the examination centres well in advance. The comprehensive arrangements by Srikakulam Police reflect their commitment to ensuring a safe, orderly and peaceful examination environment, while simultaneously strengthening village-level policing and accelerating the investigation of pending cases.
