Hyderabad: Telengana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma has expressed his displeasure as the SPs have not been giving ample time to meet visitors to address their problems. The DGP met the police officials on July 31, Sunday and made these observations during a review on the perspective plan for the next five years. The DGP added, “I being a DGP have been meeting 20 to 30 visitors every day and solving most of their problems. Most of the visitors to DGP’s office are from districts and say that their SP is not giving them time and hence visit my office’. He warned SP’s that, ‘People friendly’ police should not behave like this with the citizens. ‘He warned that in future this kind of treatment will not be tolerated”. Though some of the district SPs are available during visiting hours, most keep away. He added that officials intentionally avoid meeting people. The DGP advised SPs to take think of third party analysis of their functioning. “The SPs can create a third party comprising five to six persons and entrust them to take feedback on the police functionary in the districts,” he said. DGP Anurag Sharma chalked out a perspective plan for the next five years and reviewed the state re-organisation and formation of new districts, adaptation of technology, cyber crime, research and development, forensic, Maoists’ movement, training, traffic management and road safety etc. ]]>
