CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) on Sunday arrested the most wanted ‘fugitive’ who had been fleeing from the police for the past twelve years in Lali village of Dera Bassi.
Charanjit Patialavi, an active member of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), who has been using different marks and hideouts for the past 12 years, has been arrested today. Recently he was living in Gurdwara in Kharagpur, West Bengal, claiming to be a gland. The police have been successful in arresting the militant who had arrived in the Punjab a few days ago.
Punjab Deputy Inspector General of Police (AGTF) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that on July 23, 2010, accused Charanjit Patilvi was booked under various sections of the Explosive Act and the Prevention of Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act and Charanjit Patialavi was declared a declared offender.
Bhullar said that the team led by AIG AGTF Gurmeet Singh Chauhan and DSP AGTF Bikramjit Singh Brar had arrested Patialavi near the Gurudwara of Dera Bassi’s Lali village on the basis of definite information.
