<![CDATA[The Special Police Cell arrested a 35-year-old extortionist and sharp-hooter who was carrying a reward of ₹1 lakh after receiving a tip-off about his arrival at DND flyway. In the latest case involving him was a kidnapping case of a estate agent. Pradeep Rana alias Kala alias Khaoo is a resident of Ghevra village. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Mr. P.S. Kushwah told that a trap was laid around 5 p.m. and his bike was intercepted and he was apprehended. A pistol, two sophisticated revolvers and a live cartridge were recovered from his possession. Rana had allegedly kidnapped a estate agent Ram Pratap from Vijay Vihar along with three of his associates on August 13, 2016. He allegedly demanded Rs.50 lakh for his release, of which, the realtor managed to pay him ₹26 lakh and got himself freed, the police said. According to the DCP“During investigation, it was revealed that Pradeep had committed the crime along with Deepak, Paramjeet Dalal, and Mohit Chhabra. Later, Deepak was Mohit were arrested but the other remained absconding,”. Pradeep revealed that he had come to know Mohit and Paramjeet in Rohini jail where he was lodged for allegedly committing two murders in Aman Vihar and Bindapur. “In January 2016, he was released on bail and jumped parole. A few months later, the other two were also released after which they planned the kidnapping,” said Mr. Kushwah. The police said that Pradeep is involved in a double murder case reported in Bindapur in 2015 wherein he and his associates had allegedly killed two members of a rival gang. “He is also found to be involved in the murder of a bootlegger in Prem Nagar in 2014 which was revealed to be a case of revenge killing. In another murder case, he killed his own associate in Bawana,” said the officer.]]>
