Siliguri: One aggrieved parent of Ward No 35, SMC lodged a missing person complaint at the NJP police station on Monday (27/09/21) stating that his daughter and two of her friends had left home for tuition classes around 09:30 hrs, but the three had neither attended their classes nor had they returned home.
During the investigation, it came to light that one of the missing girls had been regularly making calls to two unknown mobile numbers. The two numbers were quickly traced out.
It revealed that the three girls were being lured telephonically to go to Kolkata through Jalpaiguri.
NJP police station swung into action quickly and in close coordination with the local police, the three girls were recovered from the Jalpaiguri bus stand and safely handed over to their guardians within a few hours. The girls are being examined for further action.
