Madurai, Tamil Nadu: In a clash at Kayambatti village under Othakkadai police station limits in Madurai district, four houses of Scheduled Tribes were damaged and an old man was assaulted and injured. The police immediately arrested 3 persons namely Ram, Lakshman and Praveen in connection with the incident and took legal action. While the police security has been strengthened in the affected area, the District Superintendent of Police has warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in caste-based clashes and if necessary, they will be arrested under the Anti-Gunter Act.
