Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Demonstrating prompt and effective action, the Tirunelveli City Police successfully traced and rescued a 14-year-old girl who had gone missing from her home on July 20. Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, the police launched an immediate investigation into the case.
Through diligent inquiry, officers identified and located the suspect, Mahesh alias Madasamy (25), a construction worker from Vyal Street, Tirunelveli. The investigation revealed that the accused had lured and abducted the minor under the guise of a relationship, leading to sexual exploitation.
Thanks to the timely response and thorough efforts by the police, the girl was rescued safely. Mahesh was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and remanded to judicial custody.
The Tirunelveli Police’s swift action underscores their commitment to child safety and justice for victims of exploitation.
