Karnataka, Tumkur: Tumkur district police successfully dismantled an illegal firearm manufacturing network, arresting six individuals involved in producing and selling unlicensed firearms. The arrested accused includes TR Madhuchandra (29), S. Shivakumar (24), Manjunath (39), Timmaraju (45), Ravish (50), and Imran Pasha (40) from various locations in the district.
The investigation began after an incident on August 12 when Madhuchandra was caught illegally hunting in a reserve forest area. Police discovered a sophisticated operation manufacturing “Nada guns” priced between Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000, with guns assembled in a Handanakere farmhouse. Authorities seized four guns, spare parts, and raw materials. District Superintendent of Police Ashok noted ongoing efforts to confiscate additional illegal firearms in the region.
