Karnataka, Mangaluru City: In a major crackdown, two men were arrested for allegedly defrauding Amazon by exploiting its delivery network and manipulating orders to steal high-value items, including cameras and iPhones, worth approximately Rs.1 crore. The suspects reportedly used fake identities to place orders and then rerouted the goods, taking advantage of Amazon’s delivery processes to avoid payment. This scheme was carried out across eight states, making it one of the larger cases of organized online retail fraud.
Authorities are now investigating to uncover further details of the operation, assess its scale, and identify any additional accomplices. The suspects’ method of deceiving delivery partners has highlighted vulnerabilities within the e-commerce delivery process, raising concerns about similar scams. Efforts are underway to recover the stolen items and prevent future incidents of this nature.
