Patna/Samastipur, Bihar July 13: In a swift and coordinated action, Bihar Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting the individual accused of issuing a death threat to Union Minister Hon’ble Shri Chirag Paswan via social media.
The arrest was made in a joint operation carried out by the Samastipur District Police and the Patna Cyber Police Station. The accused, identified as Mohd. Shakib, a resident of Samastipur, was taken into custody following an intensive technical investigation.
During the probe, police recovered a Realme Narzo 30A smartphone from the accused. Forensic analysis of the device revealed that it was logged in to the Instagram account “tiger_meraj.idrisi”, the very handle from which threatening messages and comments were posted on the Instagram profile of user “Dakshapriya,” targeting the Union Minister.
This operation reflects the Bihar Police’s firm stance against online threats and cyber intimidation, especially those targeting public representatives. The authorities have reiterated that cybercrime will not be tolerated and that any attempt to spread fear or disrupt peace through digital platforms will be met with immediate and strict legal action.
Senior police officials have commended the coordinated effort between cyber units and district police, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of every citizen, including elected leaders.
