Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi: The Uttarkashi police have been actively conducting a verification campaign to ensure security and compliance with local regulations. As part of this initiative, the Purola police team carried out an extensive verification drive in the Purola area. During this operation, verification forms were collected from a total of 54 individuals, including outsiders, laborers, hawkers, and handcart vendors, and subsequently forwarded for further scrutiny and investigation.
Furthermore, authorities took strict action against four house owners who had failed to complete the mandatory police verification process for their tenants, issuing challans as a penalty for non-compliance. In addition to enforcement measures, the police team also engaged in an awareness drive, educating both the incoming workforce—comprising laborers and hawkers—and local house owners and contractors about the critical importance of police verification. Officials emphasized that this process plays a vital role in maintaining law and order, ensuring the safety of residents, and preventing unlawful activities.
The campaign is part of the Uttarkashi police’s broader efforts to strengthen security measures, enhance community vigilance, and ensure that all temporary residents and workers in the area are properly documented and verified.
