Vellore: The project to fill petrol and diesel by issuing electronic identification card for police vehicles was started at Viduthampattu petrol station in Vellore district yesterday. The Indian Oil Corporation started issuing petrol and diesel Electronic Identity Card for the Police Vehicles in May last year in the15 districts in Tamil Nadu. The project is also being implemented in the 16th district of Vellore. In Vellore district, there are 271 vehicles, including two wheelers owned by the police. They use diesel 34 thousand liters per month and petrol 1,400 liters. These are distributed through the petrol station at the Arms Ground in Vellore Kaspah area. At the same time, other parts of the Vellore district such as Arakkonam, Tirupattur, Ambur, Vaniyambadi etc. are coming from here and there is no need for fuel to get fuel. Indian Oil Corporation has introduced the Electronic Identity card for filling petrol diesel for police cars. The police can use petrol and diesel for any of the Indian Oil Corporation stations in the district using these electronic identification cards. Monthly petrol and diesel levels for each vehicle will be uploaded on that identity card. The petrol and diesel will be available throughout that month. The amount will be paid to the Indian Oil Corporation through the District Superintendent's Office and the Treasury.
