Pithoragarh: At the residence of the accused Niranjan Kumar Agri, who is facing charges of dowry harassment, the Gangolihat police station has affixed a notice. The notice serves as a public announcement that Niranjan Kumar Agri, son of Khimanand Agri and mother Purnagiri Bihar Dahria from Manpur West Police Station Haldwani, has been declared an absconder and proclaimed accused by the Hon’ble Court in the dowry harassment case registered at Police Station Gangolihat under Section 323/498 (A) IPC.
On this day, 03.07.2023, in compliance with the Hon’ble Court’s order, and under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police, Pithoragarh, a police team led by Mr. U.N. Mangal Singh from Police Station Gangolihat was dispatched to Niranjan Kumar’s residence. Their purpose was to officially announce, in accordance with Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), that the accused is now deemed absconding and must appear before the Hon’ble Court without delay.
Furthermore, the notice emphasizes that failure to appear before the court within the specified time frame will result in the attachment of the accused’s property. This action would be undertaken in accordance with the court’s directives and under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Pithoragarh.
By issuing this notice and making it publicly visible at the accused’s residence, the Gangolihat police station seeks to bring attention to the legal consequences that Niranjan Kumar Agri faces.
