Warangal, Telangana: Marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Warangal Police launched a series of initiatives aimed at creating a drug-free society and strengthening crime prevention across the city.
Leading the awareness campaign, Police Commissioner Mr. Sunpreet Singh unveiled anti-drug awareness posters and called upon students, youth, and the public to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse. Stressing that a drug-free society can be achieved only through collective efforts, the Police Commissioner urged young people to become “anti-drug soldiers” by spreading awareness and staying away from narcotic substances.
The Commissioner highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society, emphasizing the importance of education, vigilance, and community participation in eliminating the drug menace.
As part of enhanced crime prevention measures, ACP Prashanth Reddy conducted a field inspection of the special police check teams deployed at Kazipet Railway Station.
The special teams, constituted under the directions of the Police Commissioner, have been tasked with identifying and intercepting inter-state thieves who often travel disguised as ordinary passengers. During the inspection, the ACP reviewed the functioning of the teams and issued detailed instructions on surveillance, passenger profiling, and precautionary measures to detect offenders effectively.
The twin initiatives underscore Warangal Police’s commitment to tackling both the menace of drug abuse and organized crime through public awareness, proactive policing, and heightened vigilance.
