Tirunelveli: In Tirunelveli Pettai, a 15-year-old girl studying in the 10th standard at a school in Palayangottai went missing on the 6th. Her parents filed a missing persons complaint at the Pettai police station. The case was assigned to Inspector Ms. Judy, who conducted the investigation. During the inquiry, it was discovered that Venkatesh Raja (24), son of Arjun from the Chekkadi area of Pettai, had lured the girl away with promises of affection. Since the girl is a minor, the matter was reported to the Town All Women Police Station. Inspector Anthony Jagada from the Town Women Police Station conducted a detailed investigation on October 7, 2024, leading to Venkatesh Raja’s arrest under the POCSO Act, after which he was imprisoned.
