Policemen who lay down their lives with former Prime Minister remembered

Tribute was paid to the policemen who lay down their lives with the former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi in Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991.on Mondayby top Police officials both in service and retired.

A wreath at the memorial on the premises of the Sriperumbudur police station was placed by The Superintendent of Police, Kancheepuram police district, Mr. Santosh Hadimoni.

The family members of the slain police personnel and Office-bearers of the Tamil Nadu Retired Police Welfare Association paid tributes.

The details of the persons who also paid homage are Mrs.D. Vedavalli, wife of constable Mr. J. Dharman, Mr. K. Mani, husband of woman police constable Mrs. Chandra, and Mr. John Joseph, brother of inspector Mr.Edward Joseph.

Association vice-president Mr.E. Bharathidasan told  that the association felt that it would be apt to pay homage to them at the place where they died.
