Prayagraj: A 38-year-old woman employed as a nurse in a private hospital in Varanasi was reportedly fatally attacked and her body was discovered near the Jogipura area under the jurisdiction of the Mauaima police station on Wednesday morning. The victim, identified as Rinki Yadav from Virbhanpur village in Pratapgarh’s Baghrai police station area, was married to Sanjay Singh Yadav, a resident of Khuldabad in Prayagraj, where Sanjay works as a wholesale vegetable vendor. Rinki’s husband lodged a complaint with the police, prompting an investigation into the unidentified perpetrators. According to the police, Rinki was en route to Aruaon Sitau Ka Pura village in Holagarh, Prayagraj, when the incident occurred. While the victim’s body has been sent for a postmortem examination, authorities are exploring all possible motives for the crime and examining the victim’s mobile phone records. The couple’s son Vikas, who operates a tea stall near the hospital where Rinki worked, had traveled to Aruaon in Holagarh for a birthday celebration at his aunt’s residence. Rinki had also left Varanasi for Aruaon Sitau Ka Pura village in Holagarh to attend a family gathering at her sister’s house but never reached her destination, leaving authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her tragic death.
