KOZHIKODE: In Kerala women passengers are having a tough time ever time they travel. They are groped or face misbehavior from male passengers but thanks to Kerala Police the woman passengers would have a smooth ride. Balussery Janamaithri Police will be launching more than 400 woman-friendly buses. Local buses plying within the limits of Balussery Police circle will offer special services with women-friendly features, a source said. The Police have come up with this plan after concerns of atrocities against women in buses, Mr. Balussery Circle Inspector K Sushir told Policenewsplus. “The project aims to ensure safe travel for women and girls and nearly 400 buses plying in the region will be brought under the project,” he added. The Police will join hands with the bus operators’ organizations and other NGOs and implement the project in a phased manner. Mr Sushir said, “After a bus gets women friendly tag it should has to follow all norms and guidelines issued by the Police, and special efforts will be taken to promote such services”, he told Policenewsplus.]]>
