Chandigarh– Haryana police busted a gang involved in several robbery incidents in Karnal, Jind, and Kaithal and has succeeded in arresting four of its members from Assandh, Karnal. Police also recovered three sharp weapons and a vehicle from their possession. While giving this information, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that the arrested accused have been identified as Sachin and Mandeep alias Gula, residents of Rahana in Karnal and Govinda alias Iron and Ramnivas, residents of Malikpur in Jind.
During interrogation, the accused have disclosed 11 incidents of loot in Karnal, Jind, and Kaithal districts. Police received information that some persons were driving in an Alto car and also had weapons, which could lead to an untoward incident. Taking immediate cognizance of this information, the police team cordoned off from Khizrabad Road towards Kaithal Road and seized four people in the car. The gang mainly targeted passers-by and pedestrians.
Initial investigation has revealed that five cases of robbery and theft are registered against Sachin while one case of robbery against Mandeep is registered in Kaithal. It is noteworthy that after the incidents of looting and snatching in the Sindh and adjoining areas of Karnal, Superintendent of Police, Karnal, Mr. Surendra Singh Bhoria instructed his team to take strict cognizance in this regard. Further investigation in this regard is being undertaken by registering a case against all the accused under relevant sections of IPC.
