Rachakonda: The facts of the case are that on 02-10-2018 the complainant Mr. Abdul Rahman son of Md. Sardar Age: 30 years, resident of Malkajgiri lodged a complaint in Malkajgiri Police Station, in which he stated that on 01.10.2018 at 9:30 pm he went to his friend’s birthday party at Lalapet, after completion of the party while he was returning home by walk while talking over a mobile phone and when he reached Lalapet bridge at about 2 am the accused (A1) S. Harshavardhan alias Harsha son of Venkatesh age, 21 years occupation. Bike Mechanic, resident of Beerappagadda, Uppal, and( A2) Lanka Anil Kumar son of Gopal Naidu, 20 years, resident of Indira Nagar, Kushaiguda came behind him on a motorcycle, stopped him and tried to rob his mobile phone, on his resistance the accused Al and A2 beat him with hands and stones and robbed the cell phone from him and fled from the spot.
Basing on the complaint a case was registered at Malkajgiri Police Station. In this case, the IO Mr. B. Jagadeeshwar Rao, DI of Police, Malkajgiri Police Station remanded A1 and A2 to Judicial custody and after completion of the investigation filed a charge sheet in the Hon’ble Court. During the trial on 26-08-2020, the Hon’ble XVII Add MM Court at Malkajgiri convicted the accused A2) Anil Kumar alias Anil son of Gopal Naidu age.19 years occupation: Trimmer mechanic, resident of Indiranagar colony, Kushaiguda, to undergo 2 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs. 2,000/-.
In this case already (A1) S.Harshavardhan alias Harsha son of Venkatesh was convicted 2 years RI and Rs. 2,000/- fine. In this case the 10 Mr. B.Jagadeeshwar Rao, DI of Police, Malkajgiri Poice Station, AFP. Mr. B. Naveen Kumar and Court duty officer Mr. M. Sridhara Chary of Malkajgiri Police Station have attended on behalf of the prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh.M.Bhagwat IPS appreciated the IO, CDO, and APP for their efforts in getting a conviction.
