Malda: Malda, two arrested with brown sugar, 27 August. The police of Harishchandrapur police station in Malda district arrested two people with drugs. According to police sources, both of them were arrested late Wednesday night by campaigning in the Batalla area of Harishchandrapur Dingol Gram Panchayat. 40 grams of brown sugar was recovered from them, whose market value is being reported as about one lakh rupees.

IC’s Mr. Sanjay Kumar Das of Harishchandrapur police station said that after receiving intelligence about the sale of narcotics, both were arrested by conducting a special operation in the Batla area. The names of the accused are Jani Mandal and Ratan Mandal. Both of them are residents of the Sheetalpur area of Old Malda police station. Both came for sale from Malda to Harishchandrapur with motorcycles from brown sugar. Earlier, the police conducted a campaign and arrested him.
