Inauguration of Community CCTV Cameras By Mr. Ch.Malla Reddy, Hon’ble Minister, and Rachakonda CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat, IPS at Shiva Reddy Guda, Ghatkesar Municipality. As a part of expanding Community CCTV cameras network across Rachakonda Commissionerate, today Hon’ble Minister for Labour Empowerment, Women and Child Development, Mr. Ch. Malla Reddy, Rachakonda CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, inaugurated (125) Community CCTV Cameras installed in Ghatkesar Municipality Shiva Reddy Guda area with a cost of Rs.25, 50,000/-. These cameras will be connected to the command and control room at the Ghatkesar police station. These cameras were installed at strategic locations covering the entry and exits, main routes, and crime-prone areas of the localities. As of today, there are 471 Community CC Cameras and 2859 Nenu Saitham Cameras that have been installed under the limits of Ghatkesar Police Station.
In the recent past, Snatching cases, house burglary, and robbery cases were detected through CCTV footages and recovered property. Addressing the gathering at the inaugural ceremony, the chief guest Mr. Ch. Malla Reddy has said it was a great initiative where the citizens with the help of police came forward and installed CCTV cameras for the security of all citizens. He also applauded the Ghatkesar Municipal Chairperson and others for taking the initiation to install CCTV cameras under Ghatkesar municipality. He made an appeal to the public to join hands for safer Rachakonda and also appealed to the local public representatives to ensure the installation of more cameras in the remaining colonies of Ghatkesar municipality and keep it at the top position in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS has said, CCTV cameras became an important aspect of modern-day policing and almost 67% of the crimes are being detected with the footages. He urged the citizens and public representatives to come forward and install more cameras in their respective areas. He appealed to the Municipal Chairman and other public representatives to make the Ghatkesar Municipality the first one to have a 100% CCTV network coverage area. The CP appreciated work in the installation of community CCTV by Ghatkesar Municipal Chairperson Pavani Jangaiah Yadav, Councilors of Ghatkesar Municipality, ACP Malkajigiri Mr. Shyam Prasad IPS, SHO Ghatkesar Mr. N Chandra Babu, and the team at a cost of 25.5 lakh Rupees.
New Year Celebration: While speaking to media regarding the New Year celebration CP has warned commuters about drunken driving and rash, negligent driving. For drunken driving 6 months imprisonment, Rs.10000/- fine punishment there and vehicles will be seized. He suggested part goers for the designated driver of a day wherein one driving knowing person in the group will be away from drinks and will safely drop others to their homes 50 teams against drunken driving are formed and all flyovers will be closed tonight CP said. All wine shops to be closed by 12 midnight and bars, restaurants by 1 am. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CP has appealed to citizens for a low key celebration of New Year with family in their homes only. No commercial and ticketed New Year events permitted anywhere in Rachakonda. SOT teams are specially working for enforcement against arrangements of any Rave parties and dance parties.
