Rachakonda: On credible information, in Rachakonda Commissionerate the sleuths of Special Operation Team Malkajgiri laid trap near ECIL X Roads in the limits of Kushaiguda Police Station and apprehended (03) persons who are illegally indulging in procuring and selling Amphotericin B injection (AMFOCARE via the black market to needy customers for Rs.30,000/- each vial (Original MRP price Rs.280/-, depending on manufacture) without any valid documents to make quick money, which is being used for Antiviral medicine for the Black fungal infection to COVID-19 patients. The antiviral drug is currently in high demand for the treatment of Black fungal infection patients.

- PUJARI NAVEEN S/o P. Rajender, Age: 24 years, Occ: Business, R/o: H.No 14-20 677/33, Viveka Nanda Nagar, Borbanda, Hyderabad.
- GRANDHE KISHORE S/o G. Srinivasa Rao, Age: 42 years, Occ: Medical Shop, R/o: H. No. 8-4-155/5, Rajeev Nagar, Mothi Nagar, Erragadda, Hyderabad.
- DARPAREDDY VENKATESH S/o D. Ramkrishna, Age: 25 years, Occ: Driver, R/o: H.No. 468/B, Viveka Nanda Nagar, Borbanda, Hyderabad.

During the present ongoing COVID -19 pandemic, for the treatment of Patients Amphotericin B injection is being used for black fungal infections. Due to its high demand, it is not easily available in the market. The demand for the Amphotericin B injection” has increased. It normally does not cost more than Rs.280/- (MRP), depending on the manufacturer. Taking undue advantage of the present scenario some of the people are trying to mint money by selling in Black Market for higher prices. In the present case, In Kushaiguda Police Station Limits, the accused Grandhe Kishore who was running a Medical shop hatched a plan to earn easy money by illegally procuring the Amphotericin B injection at a low price from his source and collaborated with Pujari Naveen and were contacting the needy customers to sell the injection vials on high price in the black market by bargaining each vial for Rs.30, 000/-. On the tip-off, the sleuths of Malkajgiri Zone along with Kushaiguda police laid a trap and apprehended the Medical Representatives at ECIL X’ roads and seized three Amphotericin B Injections from them. The accused persons using their credentials to target gullible people who are in need of Amphotericin B injection and trying to sell the injection Vials for Rs.30,000/- each to the required customers and are in the way of making money during this bad situation. They apprehended three persons along with seized material were handed over to Kushaiguda Police Station for taking further action. A case was registered with CR.NO. 380/2021 U/S 420,188 IPC and Sec 51(B) DM Act of Kushaiguda Police Station.
The arrests were made under the Direct Supervision of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Commissionerate, Mr. G.SudheerBabu, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, I/c DCP Mr. D. Srinivas, Mr.G. Naveen Kumar, Inspector SOT, Malkajgiri Zone, Mr. A. Manmohan, Inspector Kushaiguda, and the staff of the Special Operations Team and Kushaiguda police.
