Bhongir town Police nabbed one notorious offender who cheated people by exchanging ATM Cards by diverting attention

Bhongir: On 23.07.2021 in the evening hours, on credible information sleuths of Bhongir town Police Station apprehended one notorious ATM cards offender Thumu Raju alias Rajender, and seized net cash of Rs.1.30,000/- and 2-cell phones, and 15-Atm cards from his possession. A case was registered at Bhongir Town Police Station, Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

The seized materials are as follows: Net cash of Rs.1.30,000/-, 2-cell phones, 15-ATM cards of various persons.

On 20.07.2021 at 16:00 hours, received a complaint from Mr. Kotha Krishna S/o late Rajamallaiah, age: 59years, resident of RB Nagar. Bhongir Town Yadadri Bhongir district in which he stated that on 19.04.2021 at 19.30 hours he went to SBI ATM Bhongir Town for drawing the money. As he does not have the knowledge and he requested the accused person to help drawing money through the ATM card and he gave the ATM card to him and told the pin number to drawn the Rs.5000/-. The accused person put the ATM card in the ATM machine withdrew money and returned the ATM card and money. Later on 20.07.2021, he cheeked his ATM card and that ATM card does not belong to him, and he proceeded to SBI Bank, Bhongir Town, and shown his ATM card to the officials, on verification they told that the ATM card does not belong to him, it belongs to one Diviti Srilatha. He checked his account and found from 19.04.2021 to 03.05.2021 at various times approximately Rs.24, 450/- withdrawn from his account. He came to know that on 19.04.2021 the accused person diverted his attention and exchanged his ATM card with another ATM card and draw the money from his account.

Soon after the receipt of the information, the Bhongir Town Police swung into action by forming a special detective team headed by the Inspector of Police Bhongir town Police Station to detect the case. Accordingly, the special team verified the complicities of all suspected persons, analyzed and filtered all the clues including CCTV Footage and the team has succeeded in nabbing the accused.

The accused hails from Gangadhara (V&M) Karimnagar (D). is making a livelihood by working at net cafe centers and he is addicted to all kinds of bad habits due to these he discontinued his Graduation. As his earnings are not sufficient to meet his lavish expenses he enquired “HOW TO EARN MONEY EASILY” in “YOUTUBE CHANNEL” and learned about ATM cards exchanging instead of another ATM card from who are not capable to withdraw money at ATM centers by obtaining PIN number from them acting as a helper. As per his plan, he committed offenses earlier in the limits of Siddipet 1-town. Karim Nagar 1-town and sent to jail. Even after release from jail. he did not change his behavior and continued committing the offenses.

The accused was previously remanded from Siddipet 1-town Police Station and Karim Nagar 1-town Police Station.

The accused used to select old aged persons who came to ATM centers to withdraw money, and on the pretext of helping in withdrawal of money, he gets the PIN number from them and exchanges another ATM card by diverting attention and escapes from the place later he used to make fraudulent transactions and withdrawal of money. Similarly, on 19.04.2021 the accused went to SBI ATM Bhongir Town found the person who is unable to use ATM card for withdrawal of money, then the accused as a helper and took ATM card with a PIN number and withdrew money and given to him by exchanging another ATM card and later withdrawn Rs.24,450/- from the account holder.

The accused was arrested on 23.07.2021 at 18.30 hours at SBI ATM Center. Bhongir Town in CR.NO. 203/2021 U/S: 420.379 IPC OF BHONGIR TOWN Police Station and is being sent to judicial custody.

The above arrest was made under the supervision of Mr.N.Bhujanga Rao, Addl. DCP Bhongir Division, Mr.A.Sudhakar Inspector of Police, Bhongir Town, and his team DSI Mr.B.Venkataiah, PC Mr. E.Mahesh. PC Mr. Anjaneyulu, PC Mr. Raju. PC Mr. Suresh, PC Mr. Sampath Kumar of Bhongir town Police Station.
