Chittoor: The Chittoor district police seized 20 red sandalwood, 25 lakh rupees and a Ford icon car, 5 motorcycles, and arrested five accused, at Kanakaneri check post. As the police were nabbing the accused and arresting them when they came towards Kanakaneri check post, a few accused escaped and ran away. Five accused were arrested for cutting red sandalwood trees in the Sheshachala forest area, moving the sandalwood logs to the top vehicles, selling them, and earning illegal earnings.
