Kolkata: Towards the end of last week, aided by credible source information, Sub-Inspectors Susovan Paik and Nilendu Ghosal, along with a team from the Detective Department’s Watch Section, set up surveillance in the vicinity of Sealdah Station. The vigil was supervised by Watch Section Officer in Charge, Inspector Pradip Kumar Ghosal.
As a result, the team succeeded in arresting Answarul Haque alias Bappa and Mehboob Alam alias Guddu. A search revealed 27 used android mobile phones in their possession, most likely stolen. Upon interrogation, the duo admitted that they used to steal android mobiles from crowded places like markets, bus stands, and railway stations. A hunt is on to identify the owners of the recovered phones, and also to find out whether complaints have been lodged at any police stations regarding the loss of the mobile phones. The accused have been remanded to police custody until November 29 by the learned court.
