Mahabubnagar: The district SP Mr. R.Venkateshwarlu, IPS was responding to the public response to the measures taken by the police as part of maintaining law and order. Mr. R. Venkateshwarlu expressed happiness. The SP said that the police department was working in a planned manner to prevent road accidents and was identifying black spots from the village level to the national highway and are taking appropriate action in this regard. The SP said that these were not the grievances of the families of those who lost their lives in road accidents and that efforts were being made to move forward with the help of NGOs to avoid such unfortunate situations. The SP appealed to the family and said that they should not forget to tell their children driving precautions on a daily basis. According to the SP, ninety percent of accidents are caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, driving aggressively and recklessly.
The SP specifically mentioned that drunken drive checks were being carried out in the district in the wake of this, and those who drove under the influence of alcohol appeared in court, while the judge sentenced some to two days to thirty days in jail. Similarly, Drunken Drive checks in the suburbs and a few more police patrol teams will be deployed to keep a watchful eye on reckless drivers. He said that in addition to the measures taken by the police department to prevent road accidents, people should be careful while driving, and focusing even for a single moment would only lead to accidents. The SP said that daily caution, especially for family elders, parents, sisters, and those who drive in their home, can make a big difference, SP said confidently. The SP said that counseling has been conducted so far in the case of minors driving vehicles and a case will be registered against the concerned drivers as well as the elders of the concerned house warned.
