Panipat: The team of Thana Israna police has arrested a young man with an illegal country-made pistol from near Israna bus stand. The accused was identified as Praveen resident of Lohari Panipat.
Inspector Vijay, in-charge of the station Israna said that one of his teams was present near the Israna power house during patrol on Tuesday. During this time, the team got secret information that a young man of suspicious nature is standing in front of the Jain petrol pump near the bus stand, waiting for the vehicle. The youth is likely to have an illegal weapon. When the police team immediately arrested the accused youth on the spot and searched, illegal country-made pistol was recovered from the pocket of the paint. During interrogation, the accused revealed his identity as Praveen son of Bhim Singh resident of Lohari Panipat.
Inspector Vijay told that during interrogation, it was revealed from accused Praveen that he is fond of keeping weapons, he had bought the said country-made pistol on Tuesday for Rs.2, 000 from an unknown street vendor who had come to sell jaggery in Israna. He was going home with an illegal country-made pistol, was arrested by the police team near Israna base. Police team took the recovered illegal country-made pistol in possession of police and registered a case against accused Praveen under Arms Act at Police Station Israna and presented the accused in the Honorable Court today from where he was sent to judicial custody.
