Mayiladuthurai: On International Women’s Day in Mayiladuthurai district on March 8, the District Superintendent of Police addressed women police officers and officials, offering guidance on managing public interactions without experiencing undue stress. The event, organized by the district administration, took place at the newly established district collector’s office and was attended by various dignitaries including the District Collector, Additional District Collector, District Revenue Officer, Mayiladuthurai Kotachiar, District Social Welfare Officer, and representatives from other departments. Collaborating on women’s awareness initiatives, the District Police and Social Welfare Department focused on eleven key topics, including image shaming, gender manipulation, confronting threats such as unauthorized photography, addressing obscenity with family support, combating food discrimination against girls, preventing child marriage, tackling stalking, addressing sexual harassment, avoiding scams via social media, addressing social media addiction, and dealing with intimidation.
