Guwahati: In an anti-narcotics operation in Guwahati, a youth was apprehended with 21 kilograms of cannabis. The operation was carried out by the Special Operations Group of the Assam Police along with Garchuk Police based on specific intelligence inputs.
During the operation, officials intercepted an Alto car at Lokhra which was en-routed from Boragaon to Sawkuchi. Upon searching the vehicle the official discovered the cannabis which is valued at approximately Rs.5 lakhs to Rs.6 lakhs in illicit narcotic market.
The driver of the vehicle is identified as Manoj Bodo who is taken into custody by the officials. Additionally, the Alto car bearing the registration number AS 01 PC 9474 was seized.
The successful interception of the cannabis consignment highlights the continued efforts of the law enforcement agencies to combat the drug trafficking in the region.
