Guwahati: In Guwahati, Assam, a substantial quantity of drugs valued at Rs.12 crore was confiscated by the Assam Police in Khanapara. The drugs, originating from Tripura, were intercepted in a Wagon R vehicle. Acting on intelligence, the Assam Police’s Special Task Force apprehended two primary suspects, Jamal Ali and Salimuddin, seizing approximately one and a half kilograms of heroin cleverly concealed within the vehicle bearing the registration number AS 01 FN 7633. This operation, spearheaded by Inspector General of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Additional Superintendent of Police Kalyan Pathak, effectively thwarted the drugs’ intended delivery in Guwahati. The swift and coordinated efforts of the officials represent a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against illicit drug trafficking in Assam.
