Guwahati: In Guwahati, during routine operations for the 2nd phase of the Lok Sabha Election, authorities intercepted and confiscated a substantial sum of Rs.2,15,000 near Ganeshguri. This underscores the heightened vigilance of election authorities to thwart illicit activities during the ongoing electoral process. The cash was found in possession of Ritesh Agarwal, traveling in a Hyundai Venue car with registration number AS 19R 8777. Law enforcement agencies are diligently working to prevent unauthorized cash transportation and uphold the integrity of the electoral process. Similarly, during the 1st phase of the Lok Sabha Election in Assam, the Lakhimpur Flying Squad apprehended Jintu Hazarika, the personal assistant to Bhupen Borah, the President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), for carrying Rs.5,30,000 in cash, along with ‘Nyay Guarantee Cards’ and exceeding the permissible limit of foreign liquor bottles under the election code of conduct.
