Hyderabad, Telangana: On 13-04-2024 received a complaint from Sri. Smit Patel regarding theft of his vehicle TVS Jupiter from his abode, as he mistakenly left the keys to the two wheeler in the night, in the morning he found that his vehicle was missing. As such Begumpet PS registered a case and investigated it. As a part of tracing the unknown accused person, Smt. Rohini Priyadarshini, I.P.S., DCP North Zone, under her guidance, the Crime Team of Begumpet, which was led by Sri. M. Mallesham, Detective Inspector of Police, Begumpet P.S. and assisted by Sri. K. Gangadhar, Sub-Inspector of Police, was put on task to trace out the vehicle.
During the course of investigation, the accused person was apprehended through the High-End Technology available with ICCC Hyderabad City Police, which came as a handy. As such on scouring the CCTV footage the Begumpet PS trace out the similar vehicle without number plate at Shaheen Nagar of Chandrayangutta. Immediately the crime team proceeded to Shaheen Nagar and kept surveillance of similar vehicles without Registration Number Plates. As the surveillance gave the result of finding Jupiter vehicle without Registration Number Plate, on this the team verified the chassis and engine number found to be stolen vehicle in the limits of Begumpet P.S., the team brought the suspect person and on through interrogation he confessed to commit the offence along with Boy Juvenile.
The accused person had disclosed that after stealing the vehicle he along with Juvenile removed the vehicle registration plates and used to perform popping on wheels or stunts/wheeling on the outskirts of the city (near Shaheen Nagar) and the same to be posted on Instagram and whatsapp groups.
The duo Two-wheeler theft offenders had confessed, commission of similar offences in the various Police Station of the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, which lead to seizure of 1) Dio-7, 2) Jupiter-1 & 3) RX-100-1 and cases has been registered in various PS i.e., 3 Cases in Sanath Nagar PS of Cyberabad Commissionerate. 2 Cases in SR Nagar PS & each case HamuyunNagar PS, Ramgopalpet PS, Film Nagar PS of Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate.
Modus Operandi: – After committing the theft of the Two Wheelers, they remove the Vehicles Registration Number Plate, ply the same and perform wheeling and stunts, and post the same on the Instagram.
