Imphal West: In connection with the murder of (L) Merangir Chiru, which occurred on July 15, 2024, the Manipur Police have made a significant breakthrough by arresting an individual identified as Khangenbam Sanaton, also known as Sanatomba Singh, aged 53. Sanaton was apprehended following intensive investigative efforts and was later presented before the Court of the Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Imphal West-I. During the court proceedings, the Hon’ble JMFC granted an eight-day police custody remand for Sanaton to facilitate further investigation and questioning.
