Warangal Commissionerate Crime Control with Proactive Actions

Telangana, Warangal: Warangal Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha informed the media that the crime rate in Warangal Police Commissionerate this year has been under control and has also decreased due to the proactive actions taken by the police as part of crime control. Police Commissioner Warangal Police Commissionerate organized a crime roundup media conference for 2024 at the Commissionerate office on Saturday. Speaking at the meeting, the Police Commissioner said that the Warangal Commissionerate Police has been fully controlling crimes with proactive plans and information. The Police Commissioner said that technology has become crucial in controlling crimes and catching criminals. 

On this occasion, the Police Commissioner explained to the media representatives the differences between the crimes committed last year and this year. Mainly, 14,406 cases were registered this year, which is 3.21 percent less than last year. Similarly, compared to last year’s statistics, murders have decreased by 16.67 percent in the current year, while property crimes have decreased by a slight 2.23 percent and stolen property worth Rs.11 crore 81 lakh has been seized by the police. Along with this, the Warangal Commissionerate Police has arrested 18 inter-state thieves from different states. Cases related to crimes against women have decreased by 11 percent, frauds by 16 percent, and kidnapping by 7.45 percent, compared to last year. Also, due to the special measures taken by the police, the Commissionerate Police has succeeded in preventing road accidents this year.

While 1558 road accidents occurred last year, 1434 road accident cases have been registered this year, and 499 people died in these road accidents last year, 417 people died this year. The number of deaths due to road accidents has been reduced by 12.30 percent compared to last year. 772 cases related to cybercrimes have been registered and approximately one crore 30 lakh rupees have been recovered from cyber criminals. As part of the measures taken by the police to control narcotics, the police seized marijuana worth about Rs.2.63 crore in 147 cases and arrested 321 criminals. The police conducted a skillful investigation into the crimes and submitted adequate evidence to the court, and 2462 people were convicted and sentenced. This is 42 percent more than the previous year, the Police Commissioner informed.

East Zone DCP Ravinder, ASP Manan Bhat, Additional DCP Ravi, ACPs Jitender Reddy, David Raju, Inspectors Srinivas and Karunakar participated in this meeting.
