<![CDATA[AURANGABAD: Two sitting and five former corporators figure in this year's list of around 300 people who are to be externed by the police from the city limits for posing a threat to the law-and-order situation. According to a crime branch sleuth closely working on the list,this was for the first time that the police has decided to extern so many sitting or former elected representatives. "The police are keeping a close watch on the activities of these corporators. They will get the notices any time soon," . According to city police commissioner Yashasvi Yadav "Whoever poses a threat to the peace and harmony in the city will be externed. The police will keep a watch on the suspects even after they are externed. If they are found to be violating the orders, they will be arrested and prosecuted. If found guilty by the courts, they can face imprisonment for up to two years." A police officer told that the list had 200 names earlier but had since been updated. "The city police are of the opinion that externment is the best form of preventive action. It acts as a deterrent to trouble-makers and also sends out a strong message," .
